Outside of still putting the pen to the page I’m just here trying to re find my footing.

I’ve always been adamant about not attacking my value to the outcome of my art and coming off of a solo poetry tour thar was successful this has been a saving grace in this quiet season. My heart is still intact when bookings are low and I lack the capacity to put my own show together. (Ya girl is on empty.)

Making peace with a pivot hasn’t been smooth sailing for me, but I’m finding it. I’m determined to live a life I enjoy. I don’t buy into this concept that everything must be hard. No ma’am, I don’t want it. As a church kid and PK I understand the concept of suffering but the more I live the more I’m leaning into joy. Life naturally comes with its is challenging engrained in it. I don’t need to go out seeking for suffering or ways to make life more complex.

These days I am reminding myself, that I am safe to explore to start a new at any age. I’m doing what I have to do so I can do what I want to do later. I am thankful this pivot has provided the time to write my first novel. There are things I’m doing that I thought I’d never do again, Chile, never say never. I’m older, wiser and free-er. The hope of the other side is my anchor in this change. Worth it, not easy.

You’re worried about how messy it is even though you tried to clean it before they came. 😅

Maybe it’s just me but it feels reel intimate to have them in your story looking for mistakes you know you missed! Like please don’t judge my lack of commas and typos.

I haven’t found one yet because there are different types and I plan to gather a few beta readers before but I’m on the lookout.
